CARS Tour Announces Appeal Ruling Following Treyten Lapcevich Wilkesboro DQ
December 23, 2024
Lapcevich has been reinstated as the winner of the August 3rd zMAX CARS Tour Late Model Stock Car event but will forfeit both points and prize money.

On Tuesday afternoon, the CARS Tour Appeals Panel voted to amend the penalty levied against Chad Bryant Racing for an unapproved part on Treyten Lapcevich’s No. 77 Late Model Stock Car following the event at North Wilkesboro Speedway earlier this month.
As a result, Lapcevich has been reinstated as the winner of the Aug. 3 zMAX CARS Tour presented by SoundGear Late Model Stock Car event at North Wilkesboro, but will not receive the points or prize money for the win.
“We understand and accept the decision made this afternoon by the Appeals board,” said CARS Tour Executive Director Kip Childress. “We appreciate the time and effort given by the board to hear this appeal and we understand that there is a need on our part to continue to work on our processes and procedures as we grow as a sanctioning body.”
The three-member panel, consisting of David Hoots, Brandon Brown and Kevin Powell, heard the appeal from team owner Chad Bryant before reaching their final decision.
